Course Title: Halakha  (two levels)

Halakha
This course describes the traditional Jewish way of life. It explores the laws of liturgical practice, mitzvot observance, Shabbat, holidays, kashrut and more. A text is used but the heart of this course is discussion of traditional halakhic observance as a spiritual practice. This is a course for students of all levels.

Advanced Halakha
This course trains students to use the classic codes of Jewish law – Mishneh Torah, Tur (with Beit Yosef) and Shulchan Aruch, by focusing on some area of halakha as presented in them. The nature of codification is explored as well as a different area of halakha each year. This course is designed for students in Talmud level III but is open also to students in Talmud level II.
